April 2017 Parent E-Blast: NEW Programs after SPRING BREAK

Street Smarts

Street Smarts is a program that will be led by Leila Kubesch. Leila is the founder of the non-profit, Parents2Partners. She is also a teacher in the Norwood School District. Street Smarts will be an interactive program to empower our teens and help them develop better social skills. This includes training them on better verbal communication and in body-language training. Teens will get the chance to learn the special formula of how to understand different people in their lives and how they can be better understood. Programs will take place on Tuesday, April 18, Wednesday, April 19th, and Tuesday, April 25th. All classes will be from 3:45 pm- 4:45 pm, if your student is interested in this program, please plan to pick up your student after 4:45 pm.

RedLife will be led by an EDGE adult volunteer, Tom Ellis. Tom Ellis is a Pastor at The Calvary Church. RedLife is a student organization that seeks to provide a Christian faith-based environment that students can BELONG to and be known by other students and leaders, LEARN more about how the Bible can help them in everyday life, EXPERIENCE all that God has for them, and SHARE their lives and gifts with others. On April 20th we will be discussing the topic of “Stress” and how students can better deal with it. On April 27th we will be discussing the topic of “Rejection” and what students can do to handle and respond to it. Visit www.RedLifeCampus.com for more info. All classes will be from 3:30 pm – 4:15 pm, please plan to pick up your student after 4:15 pm.

Do you work for a restaurant, movie theater, or any other entertainment establishment that could donate a Gift Card? Are you a parent that wouldn’t mind going around to local establishments on EDGE‘s behalf and asking for these types of items?
